Meadowvale Hawks Minor Novice Red wins at Niagara-on-the-Lake

The Meadowvale Minor Novice team (ME021) was at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Tournament March Break Classic from March 10-13 and won the tournament in their division.  There were 6 teams in the division and the final game was a nail biting 3-2 win over Durham.

Lorne Park Clarkson Wild Minor Novice Gold win at Muskoka

LPC Wild 021 won the Brad Pearsall Memorial tournament this past weekend.

This tournament was nicknamed the “Muskoka Moms Tournament” to thank all of the mothers for all their hard work with the team this season. Moms were treated to a wonderful night out by the players!

The team would like to thank the South Muskoka Hockey Association for hosting such a fantastic event.

Congratulations to the players on an exciting tournament championship and a big thank you to our hockey moms for your dedication and hard work this season!

Erindale Spitfires Bantam White wins at Newmarket

Erindale Bantam White 92 Spitfires won the Bantam “A”  championship in the 51st Annual Newmarket House League Hockey Tournament on Saturday. The kids made the final with a 3-0 victory over Newmarket 1 and a 3-1 win over Newmarket 2. They outlasted a very strong East Gwillimbury team in the final winning 3-2. It was a total team victory with goals scored by all three forward lines and a great team defensive effort lead by our goaltender who was our tournament MVP.

We want congratulate the Newmarket tournament organizers for hosting such a fabulous event. We also wish to thank players, coaches and parents who made this so much fun. Congratulations kids.  

 

Lorne Park Clarkson Wild Atom White win at Detroit

LPC Wild Atom White Win B-Championship at Detroit Motown Cup

The tournament took place in and around Detroit, Michigan.  LPC played its first game at the legendary Joe Louis Arena, home to the NHL’s Detroit Red Wings, and beat the Livonia Bruins 6-0 giving the kids (and coaching staff) a 1.000 winning percentage in NHL rinks.   The team played a great tournament, going 2-1 in the round robin, with the 5-3 loss coming at the hands of a very strong Fort Wayne select team, after having led 2-0 and 3-1 until midway through the third period when Fort Wayne finally took and held the lead to the end.  The team bounced back and handily dispatched the Huron County Barn Burners 6-0 in the B Finals.  Congratulations to all players and coaching staff on a terrific tournament, and terrific season to date.

 

Meadowvale Hawks Novice White win at Brantford

The Meadowvale Hawks ME032 was one of 16 novice teams to compete this past Family Day weekend.

The tournament featured 16 teams playing 3 round robin games.  ME032 advanced to the semi-final game to compete against the Oakville Red Devils and came out with a win of 8-4.

Their final game of the tournament was against West London, which was the 5th game of the day for each team. However the long day resulted in a terrific final game, which featured a loud crowd and great hockey. The game saw West London jump out to an early 5-2 lead, however at the 14:51 mark of the second half, Meadowvale started the comeback, scoring 4 unanswered goals to mount a terrific comeback, and win the 2017 Dodge Caravan Kids Cup.

Port Credit Storm Bantam Red win at Dresden

Port Credit 091, Bantam Red Team wins the Dresden Kinsmen Cup.  The tournament took place in Dresden, Ontario from February 3-5, 2017. Over the five games, PC 091 scored 28 goals and allowed only 4. We wish to thank all the Coaches, Players and Parents who made it possible and who’s contribution made it the great experience it was.  We would also, like to thank, the Dresden Kinsmen and Mike DePauw who were our welcoming and fabulous hosts over the course of the tournament. A job very well done!  Thank you!

 

Phantom Wolves Novice Gold win at London

Congratulations to Phantom Wolves Novice GOLD (players and coaches) on their win at the 2017 Bryon Optimist Competitive Tournament in London, Ontario this past weekend. The team went 6-0 in the Tournament to place first in the pool and to go on to win the Championship game.    We faced against London team in the semi-final and won 5-0. We moved on to the Championship game to face Humber Valley to be down 3-0 and the team fought back in the 3rd period with 41 seconds left we scored to make it a one goal game.   After that with 11 seconds on the clock in the 3rd period we scored the tying goal. The Championship game went into overtime and with only 15 seconds into the overtime we sealed the win on a breakaway.   What a dramatic finish to cap off the fun weekend with the team. Our team played great hockey and the players worked really hard, the goalies allowed only three goals against in the tournament.  Coaching staff and family members are so proud of the team as they played very well.   Would like to thank all the Coaching staff and family members and friends as well as the sponsors whom have supported us this season.

Port Credit Storm Peewee Red win at Bradford

Port Credit Storm Peewee Red 072 won GOLD last weekend at the Bradford Blue & Gold Tournament in the Peewee RS division.  They showed perseverance, skill and patience in the tournament by advancing to the finals and then winning the championship game by a 2-1 margin.  Congratulations to the team and the coaching staff for their hard work, dedication and effort!  And many thanks to our sponsors, Mother Parkers Tea & Coffee and EllisDon, for helping to make it happen.  GO STORM GO!

 

Lorne Park Clarkson Wild Tyke Select win at Amesbury

The LPC Tyke Select Team brought home GOLD this past weekend from the Amesbury Avalanche Winter Classic tournament. The team achieved a perfect 5-0 record and defeated a very strong North Toronto team in the championship game by a score of 4 to 2.  The coaching staff and parents are very proud of these young players as they continue to show great character both on and off the ice in representing our association.  Congratulations. GO WILD GO!
