On January 20, 2019 the Meadowvale Hawks Minor Peewee Red (Team 62) won gold at the 2019 Amesbury/Bert Robinson Winter Classic Select Tournament in Toronto, beating out a strong Meadowvale Hawks Minor Peewee Red (Team 63) team by a score of 2-1 in regulation time.
Through hard work ,determination and solid team play, the team produced big results. The Hawks had a strong tournament winning 3 games straight with 75% GF to make the finals. The team played good clean hockey with very few penalties. Another positive for the weekend is that everyone made it safely to the games given the challenges of winter storm conditions. Thanks to the host club and the other teams in the tournament for a great weekend.
The coaching staff and parents are proud of our team for showing such heart and for the sportsmanship they showed throughout the weekend. They will remember this weekend for the rest of their lives. This team represented themselves, their families and the community extremely well. CONGRATS HAWKS!
