Erindale Spitfires Bantam White wins at Newmarket

Erindale Bantam White 92 Spitfires won the Bantam “A”  championship in the 51st Annual Newmarket House League Hockey Tournament on Saturday. The kids made the final with a 3-0 victory over Newmarket 1 and a 3-1 win over Newmarket 2. They outlasted a very strong East Gwillimbury team in the final winning 3-2. It was a total team victory with goals scored by all three forward lines and a great team defensive effort lead by our goaltender who was our tournament MVP. We want congratulate the Newmarket tournament organizers for hosting such a fabulous event. We also wish to thank players, coaches and parents who made this so much fun. Congratulations kids.

LPC Wild Atom White Win B-Championship at Detroit Motown Cup

The tournament took place in and around Detroit, Michigan.  LPC played its first game at the legendary Joe Louis Arena, home to the NHL’s Detroit Red Wings, and beat the Livonia Bruins 6-0 giving the kids (and coaching staff) a 1.000 winning percentage in NHL rinks.   The team played a great tournament, going 2-1 in the round robin, with the 5-3 loss coming at the hands of a very strong Fort Wayne select team, after having led 2-0 and 3-1 until midway through the third period when Fort Wayne finally took and held the lead to the end.  The team bounced back and handily dispatched the Huron County Barn Burners 6-0 in the B Finals.  Congratulations to all players and coaching staff on a terrific tournament, and terrific season to date.
