The Government of Ontario announced today new temporary restrictions as the province moves to a modified Stage Two of the Roadmap to Reopen.
The time-limited Public Health measures include the pause of indoor sports which are not permitted for a period of at least 21 days beginning on January 5, 2022 at 12:01am. These dates are subject to trends in public health and other health system indicators. As a result, Greater Toronto Hockey League organizations (including the Mississauga Hockey League), teams, and players at all levels (House League, Select, ‘A,’ ‘AA,’ and ‘AAA’) cannot participate in any indoor activities. Indoor sports facilities, as with the pause of indoor sports, are closed up to and including at least January 26.
The MHL will continue to work with the GTHL, local Public Health agencies, municipalities, and facility operators in order to return to hockey as safely as possible once the restrictions are lifted.
