This past weekend, Erindale Spitfire’s Peewee 72 team played in the sixteen team Frank Sabatino Memorial Tournament in Oakville Ontario.  They went undefeated.  Teams attending included teams from Burlington, Oakville, Oro, Richmond Hill, Fergus, Nepean, Hanover, London and Woolwich.  After going undefeated in the exciting round robins with scores of 2-1, 2-1, and 4-1, Erindale placed 3rd and defeated Centre Wellington in the Semi-Finals who had an undefeated record of 4-1, 5-3, and 7-1 and then beat the hometown Oakville Beast in the finals who were also undefeated with a record of 3-1, 4-0, and 2-0.

Also, as part of the tournament, Oakville ran a skills competition of 5 Skills Based Events.  Blake Woodman, Captain of Peewee White 72 beat out 63 other players to win the Breakaway Drill, Jayden Johston went head to head against 15 other goalies to come in second in Goaltending, and Blake, Mateo Harasim, David Benninger, and Aaron Dias came in 3rd in the team relay that was won by Erindale’s Peewee White 73 team, so a big “Way to Go” goes out to them.

The coaching staff, parents and families are proud of the players who played hard to go undefeated to end up as Champions!
