On Thursday December 7, 2017, as part of a team building activity, the Erindale Minor Bantam A players along with the coaching staff and parents had an opportunity to tour the Eden Food for Change facility, which is essentially at the back door of the Erin Mills Twin Arena.  Through our tour leader, we learned about the many different ways that the Eden Food Bank has been providing support to the western Mississauga community for the past 25 years, with non-perishable food items just being one of them.

As part of the team building activity, the players, coaching staff and parents donated an amazing 665 pounds of various types of non-perishable food items.  During the tour we learned that on average, those in need will receive approximately 34 pounds of food. It is nice to know that the food our team donated will be used to assist about 19.  At the end of the tour the players and coaches sorted the 665 pounds of food into various categories in the marketplace, with only two minor mishaps of dropped spaghetti sauce!

We encourage anyone who can to make a contribution to this wonderful facility, whether it be in the form on food items, time or monetary donation!  Check out their website to see how you too can make a difference (www.edenffc.org)
