Please don’t forget to set your clocks BACK one hour before you go to bed on Saturday evening… you don’t want to be late for practice (or your game) on Sunday! (This is also the time to change the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors.)
And now that we’re fully back on the ice, we’d like to pass along this message from our hockey-affiliate, the City of Mississauga…
We hope that everyone is having a great kick off to the new season. As we gear up, we wanted to touch base one more time regarding the vaccine check in process at our facility ambassador tables.
Since the move on November 1st to mandatory checks for those 12-17 – we have seen a number of instances with confusion with some parents/participants about this process. Here are some reminders to help clarify the requirements.
- As of November 1st, all sports players, coaches and officials will be required to be fully vaccinated to enter a recreation facility. This is a result of a mandate put in place from Peel Public Health and removes a previous exception that youth sports had in the original provincial legislation.
- As a result of this – our facility ambassadors will be checking vaccine receipts for all entrants 12+, even players.
- We will also be using the Ontario proof of vaccination app to help verify vaccination and speed up facility entry. Original white copy receipts are also acceptable
- We have also transferred to a QR code format for our contract tracing requirement. This can be completed in person or you can even fill it out ahead of time (bring a receipt of confirmation) to help with checking in.
- https://mississauga.ca/apps/forms/#/arena-screening is the direct link to the screening form.
If everyone follows the above process, it would help everyone out to make visiting our facilities as seamless as possible for all involved.
